We are seeking an experienced Senior Backup & Storage Engineer to lead and support complex enterprise backup and storage infrastructure initiatives. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of backup and storage systems that support the organization’s IT architecture and business operations.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in enterprise data protection, storage platforms, cloud integration, and disaster recovery solutions.

• Plan, install, configure, test, implement, and manage enterprise backup and storage systems

• Administer and maintain backup platforms including CommVault Complete Data Protection

• Configure and manage storage systems including Dell/EMC, IBM, NetApp, and Pure Storage

• Create and manage CommVault backup jobs for:

  • Linux, UNIX, and Windows hosts

  • NAS (NDMP)

  • Databases (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)

• Perform storage masking, zoning, and provisioning for UNIX, Windows, and VMware environments

• Execute data recovery operations and perform advanced troubleshooting

• Support cloud-based backup and recovery across AWS, Azure, GCP, and IBM Cloud

• Conduct system health monitoring, upgrades, and capacity planning

• Design storage architecture solutions and support migration and data center consolidation projects

• Apply security patches and ensure compliance with enterprise security policies

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to validate changes and test applications

• Minimize downtime during hardware upgrades and system maintenance windows

• Advanced knowledge of CommVault Complete Data Protection

• Experience with VMware data protection and recovery (VADP)

• Strong expertise configuring enterprise storage arrays with business continuity solutions

• Experience executing storage migrations and consolidation projects

• Administration of Pure Storage, IBM, Dell/EMC, and NetApp (ONTAP, SnapMirror, SnapVault)

• Scripting experience with PowerShell and Python for automation

• Proficiency with UNIX systems (AIX, Linux, HP-UX) and TCP/IP networking fundamentals

• Experience designing and managing scalable cloud storage and backup solutions

• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences

• Excellent time management, problem-solving, and attention to detail

Within the last five (5) years:

• Minimum three (3) years of experience administering enterprise backup systems similar to CommVault, including configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting

• Minimum three (3) years of experience working with enterprise storage solutions (Dell/EMC, IBM, NetApp, Pure Storage)

• Minimum two (2) years of experience configuring and supporting cloud-based backup and storage systems in enterprise environments

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
